Bio

Jane Jenevieve grew up in Sydney’s inner city, a place of concrete, rhythm, and restless expression. Amid its raw mix of art, sound, and subculture, she learned to tune into atmosphere and emotion. Those years left her with a pull toward contrast and stillness, and the beauty that lingers in what’s half-seen or in flux.

Using the currents of image and sound, her work is guided by what feels alive in the moment and shaped by intuition. Each piece grows out of quiet attention, where thought gives way to instinct and the exchange between self and material becomes its own kind of language.

“When I’m painting, it feels less about making and more about allowing. The work moves in its own direction, and I follow quietly. Sometimes it feels as though something is travelling through, an impulse, a rhythm, a tone. I don’t try to define it I just try to stay open long enough to let it land.”

Occasionally, I wander into the unknown, only to meet myself there

Her 2024/2025 collection, 'Self-Excited Circuit,' explores the concept of the "observer participator" and the intricate relationship between the past, present, and future. It delves into the idea that our observation choices shape the observable reality, emphasizing the interconnectedness of time. The past is not isolated but intertwined with our act of observation, making us co-creators of our reality through perception.
